On Friday, March 7, former Herbert Hoover High School standout Cortney Fizer’s current college team, the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats, won 4-1 in their NCAA Division II softball game against the Bemidji State Beavers.
The game took place at Legends Way Ballfields. This was their first matchup against the Beavers this season.
The Bobcats’ next game is scheduled for Friday, March 7 at 11:30 a.m. at Legends Way Ballfields against Wayne State Wildcats.

Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
The upcoming week starting Monday, Sept. 8 will feature these former Verdugos area high school athletes.
