On Monday, Feb. 17, former Maranatha High School standout Eli Paton’s current college team, the Grand Canyon Antelopes, won 3-1 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
The game took place at Brazell Field at GCU Ballpark. This was their first matchup against the Cornhuskers this season.
The Antelopes’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. at Brazell Field at GCU Ballpark against Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
The upcoming week starting Monday, Sept. 8 will feature these former Verdugos area high school athletes.
