On Friday, March 14, former St. Francis High School standout Lucas Favretto’s current college team, the Caltech Beavers, lost 4-0 in their NCAA Division III baseball game against the Dickinson Red Devils.
The game took place at North Field. This was their first matchup against the Red Devils this season.
The Beavers’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, March 15 at 11 a.m. at North Field against Dickinson Red Devils.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
The upcoming week starting Monday, Sept. 8 will feature these former Verdugos area high school athletes.
