On Saturday, April 12, former Crescenta Valley High School standout JD Schaffer’s current college team, the Dubuque Spartans, lost 12-9 in their NCAA Division III baseball game against the Wartburg Knights.
The game took place at Harms Stadium at Hertel Field. This was their third matchup against the Knights this season.
The Spartans’ next game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15 at 1 p.m. at Daniels Park – Bill Quinby Field against Coe Kohawks.

Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
The upcoming week starting Monday, Sept. 8 will feature these former Verdugos area high school athletes.
