On Saturday, Feb. 15, former Maranatha High School standout Eli Paton’s current college team, the Grand Canyon Antelopes, won 6-5 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the San Diego State Aztecs.
The game took place at Sloan Park. This was their first matchup against the Aztecs this season.
The Antelopes’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick against Austin Peay Governors.

Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
The upcoming week starting Monday, Sept. 8 will feature these former Verdugos area high school athletes.
