On Saturday, April 12, former St. Francis High School standout Lucas Favretto’s current college team, the Caltech Beavers, won 3-2 in their NCAA Division III baseball game against the Whittier Poets.
The game took place at Hugh B. Mendez Stadium. This was their third matchup against the Poets this season.
The Beavers’ next game is scheduled for Friday, April 18 at 3 p.m. at Alumni Field against Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens.

Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
The upcoming week starting Monday, Sept. 8 will feature these former Verdugos area high school athletes.
