On Saturday, April 5, former Herbert Hoover High School standout Cortney Fizer’s current college team, the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats, lost 8-1 in their NCAA Division II softball game against the West Virginia State Yellow Jackets.
The game took place at Lady Jackets Field. This was their second matchup against the Yellow Jackets this season.
The Bobcats’ next game is scheduled for Wednesday, April 9 at 2 p.m. at Culpepper Field against Davis & Elkins Senators.

Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
The upcoming week starting Monday, Sept. 8 will feature these former Verdugos area high school athletes.
